WinQVT/Net will give you news/telnet/ftp/lpr/pop mail in one shareware windows application either standalone (not recommended for gatewaying on air with!) or using the microsoft tcp/ip winsock package with it. If you have to use windows 8) then I'd strongly suggest WinQVT/Net as a fine product. You can apparently do slip [this is second hand info] by using ODI drivers with the Microsoft stack (ie as if you were a netware client). Then use ODIPKT and the packet driver collection EtherSLIP driver ...
